We welcome new partnerships who benefit from their generosity and goodwill. Many local businesses have already played a major role in providing food to our students. Thank u for letting me have a chance to help with this great program.” - EATS Food Recipient and Weekly Volunteer Partner with Arlington EATS and Forge a Community

E ATS is one of the best family based programs going. There are always veggie versions of a meal provided. Each person that comes is treated with respect and dignity. There is no stop to what EATS does to get healthy food to families with kids. I have been volunteering with EATS for over a year. “The EATS program always a great place to volunteer. EATS depends on people to donate time to distribute, serve, prepare and rescue food, or give their talents to many coordination and communication efforts. When vacation lunches are served, all are welcomed to the table, regardless of whether they are there to eat, volunteer, or just break community bread. In addition, we have seen a significant decrease in behavioral issues – students are not acting out because they are hungry, and are more available for learning because they know that they will have access to food each and every day.” – Karen Donato, Thompson School Principal Join EATS at the TableĪrlington EATS treats food recipients with the dignity they deserve. This has helped to create an atmosphere of acceptance and has removed the potential embarrassment factor associated with having to approach an adult and ask for food, or to sit in class where all the other kids are eating snack and 1-2 students aren’t because they didn’t have food at home. “With the help of Arlington EATS and their coordinated efforts, we have healthy snacks and fresh produce available to all students, all day long. This helps them be present during school and engage in thinking and learning. Hungry students may rest assured they will eat snacks when their classmates do. The Weekend Food Program and in-school Snack Programs have been extremely beneficial to school communities. Arlington EATS has helped my family tremendously in defraying the cost of food.” - EATS Food Recipient It’s Hard to Learn When You’re Hungry “Sometimes we have to choose between paying rent or buying food. Arlington families may struggle to make ends meet with Arlington EATS, they do not need to sacrifice meals. EATS fills the gaps left by state food banks throughout the year: when school is in session, on weekends, and during school vacations. Monetary donations directly impact Arlington EATS’ ability to provide food.
